ARTISTS CHOOSE BAUHAUS - Print to Order Lampshade

Lynda and Ronnie Wilson, both Artists living and working in Edinburgh, have attended my print workshops and are great supporters of art and design events that I've exhibited at over the years. They moved to a new home this year and having already seen my work asked if I would make them a central drum lampshade for their Lounge. Enthusiasts of bold, expressive mark making they selected my Bermann with metallic highlights as their design favoutire from my Berlin Collection. Influenced by the Bauhaus movement and working with a monochrome palette with flashes of metallic copper, silver or gold, the large scale geometric shapes have a second layer of textured collage pattern and this layout sits perfectly round the Lampshade center.

This fabric along with many others, is a 'made to order' design and can be printed at request with a lead time of 3-4 weeks. Being hand printed, when I receive an order from my collections i either print immediately if the design is still on screen or re expose the selected motifs onto screen. Several emails will normally be enough to conclude the size, shape, fixing and finishing that is required for an order like this.

Once Lynda and Ronnie agreed the final pre order form which lists their requirements, costing and timescale, work can proceed.  I check all my colors, along with metallic foil detailing and lampshade making materials. Make my order for anything that's required from my suppliers and I am ready to print and assemble the order. Hand printing and assembly is usually done over a few days depending on the complexity of the design layers and size of shade.

Lynda and Ronnie received their lampshade within 4 weeks of ordering and because they were local I was able to hand deliver it right to their door.
