COLLABORATIVE COSTUME

In June 2021 I was approached by costume designer and good friend Alison Brown to design a fabric suitable for her costumes for a production called ‘Straw Boys’ by dance producer and choreographer Rob Heaslip. Together we worked on visualizations and sampling of digital designs from the Blessed Unrest archive and made colour, scale and pattern changes to my ‘untethered’ design. I produced 15 meter digital length of scuba crepe which was then hand embellish with metallic foil detailing. This became a, funky, bright, flexible dance sweatshirt, tracksuit and jumpsuit worn below a woven straw head dress. This production toured all over the North of Scotland and the outer Hebrides throughout Autumn/Winter 2021.
